ひまし油扉絵Castor oil is a vegetable oil obtained by pressing the seeds of the perennial castor oil plant (Ricinus Communis) Castor oil is considered a miracle cure and maybe that is why the oil is called is called miracle oil (wonderolie) in Dutch. In the past, castor oil was used as a laxative in Japan. Now castor oil is used as a safe and natural remedy in alternative medicine.
To apply a castor oil compress, a quilted piece of cloth is soaked (but not dripping) in castor oil and put on the right-hand side of the body, over the liver and heated by an electric heating pad or a hot water bottle. The castor oil is absorbed by the liver through the skin to enhance the immune system and to stimulate toxic excretion.
The effects of the castor oil compress
– detox effect, depending on fecal discharge
– increased and improved lymphocytes (protection against colds)
– because of the elimination of waste, it is effective for a beautiful skin and it could be called a “beauty diet”
– improved internal adhesion through the stimulation of blood and lymph circulation and uterine fibroids
